APPLICATION FAQs

With the features of MyERAS, how will you be reviewing applications?

    1. We initially block the following categories when screening applications to decrease the risk of bias: birth date, pronouns, gender, hometown, limitations, photo, self-identification, visa questions, and work authorization questions.
    2. We exclude applications that do not meet our program requirements.
    3. We use signaling and geographic preferences to help determine the order in which to begin reviewing applications. We will not “assume signals”. An applicant who rotated with us or attends our medical school does not automatically count as signaled.
    4. We look through the applications searching for qualities and characteristics that match the mission of our program.

Geographic preference and signaling will NOT be used in the development of our rank list.
